Research
Resources for Research
The Harbour Trust has a small resource centre, mainly for internal use. Resources include architectural plans and drawings, a limited amount of historical background material and artefacts related to our sites, along with hard copies of working documents such as the Trust's comprehensive management plans.
We do not hold records relating to individual servicemen and women who served at our former defence sites. Please contact the Department of Defence for further information, including the Army History Unit.
Suggested sources
The local history sections of some public libraries, including Mosman Library, in the vicinity of our sites also hold background material related to the history of our sites and hard copies of our management plans. We also produce a number of maps, brochures, books, interpretative signage and programs, which are available at each site to help visitors enjoy and understand them. Some of these are also available by mail order.
The Harbour Trust does not have a Resource Centre Coordinator position and thus regrets that it is are unable to assist with student projects, nor open the resource centre for general enquiries. However, there is a wealth of information on our website. The management plans, in particular, are useful for student projects.
If you have a particular query and have already checked relevant sources such as libraries and our website, please email us at: resourcecentre@harbourtrust.gov.au.
We are also interested in gathering artefacts, documents and memories related to our sites. You can also find out more about our oral history program.
