Activities for Vacation Care Groups
The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust offers a variety of guided programs and self-directed activities for Vacation Care groups. These programs assist children to explore and learn about nature and history in fun and engaging ways. Vacation Care providers can arrange a visit to our sites on any day during the school holiday period.
Vacation Care programs are available at the following Harbour Trust sites:
North Head Sanctuary, Manly
The North Head Nature Hunt
Discover the special plants and animals that call North Head Sanctuary home. Take the Sanctuary bushwalk as a guided or self-directed activity, and learn the secrets of the plans and animals you find.
Activity type: Guided or self-directed activity
Ages: 6-12 years
Duration: 2.5 hours
Cost (self-directed): Free
Cost (guided program): $15 per child, minimum payment of $150

Cockatoo Island, Sydney
Convict Escapades Activity Tour
Discover the characters and stories of Cockatoo Island's convict past. Children become history detectives as they investigate how the convicts lived through fun and engaging games and activities.

Cost: $15 per child (Minimum payment $150)

Convict Clues Activity Trail
Keep your eyes open and pencils at the ready as you search Cockatoo Island for convict clues in this self-guided activity. With a map and activity booklet, children will explore the island and discover what life was like in Cockatoo's notorious convict prison.

Ages: 7 -12 years (Younger children may need adult assistance)
