Sydney Harbour Conservancy

Support the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust by making a donation to our fund raising programs. Your donation will help the Trust create world class urban parks around Sydney Harbour, conserve our natural and cultural heritage and implement innovative public programs and events.

According to Philanthropy Australia, “Donating or direct giving is possibly the most common form of charitable donation in Australia… Its greatest advantage is that it is simple; the donor has merely to choose a charity, make the donation and receive the receipt, which is vital if the donor wishes to claim a tax deduction. If the organisation to which the money is donated is a Deductible Gift Recipient, the donor will receive a tax deduction. The donation is usually "no strings" and the charity can therefore use the money wherever it is most needed, to assist with immediate costs.”

Why do we need a Giving Program?

In 2001 the Australian Government returned former Defence and special Commonwealth lands around Sydney Harbour to the people of Australia. The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust was created and funded for a limited period to prepare these eight special lands for their new life as public spaces. We have cleaned contaminated areas, rehabilitated bushland, preserved heritage buildings and opened up sites for everyone to enjoy. Now the Trust is self-financing. As a not-for-profit operation we rely on income generated from the sites and community support to cover the cost of future works and public programs.

 

How you can help

Your generous support will enable us to safeguard the creation of something truly special for these lands – to enhance the harbour and leave a lasting legacy for Sydney and the people of Australia. Large or small, all contributions will help make a difference and donations of $2 and above receive a tax deductible receipt. You can make your contribution by:

Through exemplary funds management, 100% of every dollar donated to the Sydney Harbour Conservancy funds the ongoing work of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
