Harbour Trust: Get InvolvedCommunity Advisory CommitteeThe Community Advisory Committee has 68 members, drawn from a wide cross-section of people with skills and expertise relevant to the Harbour Trust sites. Some Federal and State Members of Parliament are on the committee as well as representatives from local government. CAC
meeting, February 2002The committee meets as required, either as an entire group for presentations or as site-based groups for workshops and to discuss concepts, plans and projects. Members provide valuable local knowledge of the sites and ensure ideas being proposed are viable and meet community needs. During the interim phase of the Harbour Trust, four community consultative committees were set up to cover all of the sites. These committees were informal with no statutory basis. After the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust Act was proclaimed in September 2001, the single Community Advisory Committee was established to reflect the Harbour Trust's whole harbour approach to the planning.
