The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust now offers a range of hands-on, interactive activity programs designed especially to make your child’s birthday party fun and unique. Located at Lower Georges Heights, Mosman, this area of Headland Park is an is an ideal spot to celebrate your child’s birthday party, featuring shady picnic areas, sculptures, bushwalking tracks, heritage buildings and stunning views of Sydney Harbour.

Birthday party activities

Choose from the following birthday party activities:

Habitat Hike


Hike along the bushland track at Headland Park to search for harbourside habitats. Use your habitat kit to investigate mini-beasts, leaf shapes, bird songs and frog calls to discover why so many creatures call this place home. Create a bush collage of your favourite habitat.

Sculpture Discovery Trail


Follow the sculpture trail around Headland Park to look for amazing figures, animals and shapes made from wood, rock and metal. Discover the stories behind the artworks and design your own mini-sculpture from recycled materials.

Mission Fortress


Attention! Your mission should you choose to accept is to find the Lost Fortress of Georges Heights. Use your map, compass and head-lamp to hunt for clues to locate the hidden tunnels and venture underground to discover their secret past.

Ages

Birthday party activities are designed specifically for children aged 6–10 years.

Supervision

Party organisers must provide one adult for every five children to accompany the activity to assist with group supervision.

Dates and times

Birthday party activities can be held anytime between 10am and 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays or on weekday afternoons. Activities run for 1 hour. The availability of dates and times will be dependent on existing bookings and demand.

Cost and payment

Birthday party activities cost $15 per child. Prices include a dedicated staff member to conduct the birthday party activity and all required equipment and craft materials. Party catering and invitations are not included. Accompanying adults are free of charge. A deposit of $150 is required at least one week prior to your activity to reserve your booking. An invoice will be sent to you after your activity for payment of the balance. This will be calculated according to the final number of children attending on the day.

Group size

There is a minimum of 10 children and a maximum of 20 children per booking.

Catering

Party organisers can bring a picnic or use the two free electric barbecues at Headland Park for self-catering. The Barn Cafe, located at Lower Georges Heights can provide catering on-site. Please call The Barn Cafe on (02) 9810 1633 for more information.

Birthday party activities are held at and around the Lower Georges Heights area of Headland Park, located at the intersection of Middle Head Rd and Cobbittee St, Mosman.

Transport and parking

There is free parking in the car park at Lower Georges Heights, just next to The Barn Cafe. There is an additional car park on Suakin Drive (off Middle Head Road) and on-street parking on Middle Head Rd. Headland Park is also accessible by bus.

Facilities

There are accessible toilets, barbecues, park benches, bins and The Barn Cafe at Lower Georges Heights. Please BYO fold-up tables or picnic rugs and take all rubbish with you. Other facilities and food outlets are located nearby at Georges Head and Chowder Bay.

Wet weather alternatives

In the case of inclement weather, a modified birthday party activity can be conducted using available undercover areas. Alternatively your party can be postponed to another date.
