Harbour Trust: The SitesMarine Biological Station: Planning
A Vision for the Marine Biological Station
The vision for the former Marine Biological Station is to provide a new park adjacent to Camp Cove beach, repair the historic house and retain it as a dwelling and, through regular open days, interpretative activities and tours, explain its scientific and defence heritage. Diving and snorkeling would be encouraged in the surrounding waters to facilitate the study of the marine environment, with the park in the lower gardens being used as a base and linked to Camp Cove.

Management Plan
The Harbour Trust is now moving from the big picture planning to a more detailed approach for each precinct on its lands. Management Plans are being prepared to guide the way in which precincts will be reused and conserved. A Management Plan has been adopted for the former Marine Biological Station. The Harbour Trust is undertaking community consultation activities and relevant studies into transport, environmental impacts and other issues in the preparation of management plans.
