Plan Your Visit to the former Marine Biological Station
Opening hours and entry
Access to cottage available only on advertised open days. A small park has been constructed adjacent to the cottage to provide easy access to the beach at Camp Cove. The park, beach and nearby Green Point Reserve are open every day of the year.
Getting there
The former Marine Biological Station is located at the southern end of Camp Cove at Watsons Bay in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

By car:
Camp Cove is located in Watsons Bay. Access via Pacific Street. Limited parking is available in the surrounding streets.
By bus:
Sydney buses operate a service to Watsons Bay every day. The 324 links Circular Quay to Military Road, Watsons Bay. Alight at the final bus stop and walk 10 minutes via Cliff and Pacific streets to Camp Cove.

By ferry:
Sydney Ferries run between Circular Quay and Watsons Bay every day. Once embarking at Watsons Bay there is a walk of approximately 10 minutes via Cliff and Pacific streets to Camp Cove.

By foot:
Camp Cove is one of the sites on the popular coast walk that extends from the Harbour Bridge to inner South Head.

Visitor facilities
Toilet facilities are located at Green Point Reserve at the southern end of Camp Cove.

Access
No wheelchair access to the former Marine Biological Station cottage.
While most areas of nearby Camp Cove, the park and Green Point reserve are wheelchair accessible, keep in mind that it is a natural environment and some of the surfaces are uneven and steep. There are stairs linking Green Point Reserve to the beach.
Emergency
In case of emergency dial 000 or via mobile 112 if out of range.
Security
A team of rangers patrol the former Marine Biological Station during daylight hours.
Visitor Code
We welcome visitors to the former Marine Biological Station on our regular open days. However, as the cottage is a private residence, please follow the visitor code:
- access is available only on the advertised open day and times;
- bookings are not required for open days, but please be aware that there may be some queuing;
- please stay within the roped-off areas;
- backpacks and large shoulder bags are not permitted in the house;
- children under five are not permitted in the house;
- children over five must be accompanied by an adult at all times;
- booties must be worn over shoes to protect floor surfaces - these will be supplied at the door;
- no wheelchair access;
- no prams or strollers;
- no food, drink or smoking;
- no toilet facilities available;
- no photography.
Our rangers and Harbour Trust volunteers are on duty during open days to answer any questions and ensure these guidelines are followed.
