Experiences at Woolwich Dock and Parklands

Path at Woolwich Dock Boats in the travel lift at Woolwich Dock

Woolwich Dock is a fascinating maritime precinct steeped in heritage. The 300-metre cut sandstone dock is a feature of the area. The adjacent Woolwich Lookout, Goat Paddock and Horse Paddock parklands offer lovely areas to stroll or have a picnic. The area is serene and peaceful, perfect for sitting at the "Moocooboola", the meeting point of the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers.

Harbour Trust tenants Murlan-Noakes operate a boatbuilding and repair business in the dock and the theatre of boats being lifted in and out of the water is a treat if you're passing at the right time.

Walks and self-guided tours

A range of walks link the dock and adjacent parklands at Woolwich. These walks also link to Kelly's Bush and the Sydney Coastal Walk.

Lookouts

The recently completed Woolwich lookout has lovely view of the city and harbour bridge. It's cantilevered platform juts out over the sandstone cutting offering a dramatic view into the dock and caisson below.
