Draft Harbour Trust Leasing Policy 2020 – Submissions Invited

Update (10 July 2020): The current draft leasing policy will remain open for feedback and submissions until 5pm, Wednesday 15 July 2020.

[Please be advised: In light of the outcomes of the Independent Review of the Harbour Trust  in relation to recommendations 11, 12, 13 and 19(a), the Harbour Trust will be required prepare a redraft of the leasing policy. This will include feedback received during the current community consultation process. The redrafted policy will go through a public consultation process.]

The Harbour Trust is inviting the public to comment on the Draft Harbour Trust Leasing Policy 2020.

The Harbour Trust proposes to amend its current Leasing Policy. The Draft Harbour Trust Leasing Policy 2020 includes the following key changes:

  1. Clarifying the process for the consideration of unsolicited proposals to the Harbour Trust.
  2. Clarifying the role of the Trust’s Tenant Selection Committee and the responsibilities of the Tenant Selection Committee, Executive Director and the Members of the Harbour Trust in approving lease proposals and lease renewals.

The current Harbour Trust Leasing Policy was adopted by the Harbour Trust in 2017.

Alternatively, the Draft Harbour Trust Leasing policy 2020 – as well as the supporting documents – can be viewed in hard copy (during office hours) at:

  • Harbour Trust Offices, Building 28, Best Avenue, off Suakin Drive, Mosman (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Cockatoo Island Visitor Centre, Cockatoo Island (10am to 4pm daily)
  • North Head Sanctuary Visitor Centre, North Fort, North Head Scenic Drive, Manly, NSW 2095 (10am to 4pm daily).

Supporting documents – Principles and protocols

In conjunction with the review of its Leasing Policy, the Harbour Trust has reviewed the principles and protocols to be followed by Trust Officers in the implementation of the Leasing Policy. These principles and protocols are detailed below and are provided for information only. The Harbour Trust reserves the right to make changes to these principles and protocols as circumstances require.
