The Harbour Trust has published the outcomes of its recent consultation campaign to understand community aspirations for North Head Sanctuary, Manly.

The North Head Sanctuary Consultation Report was informed by a digital-first community engagement campaign that ran for seven weeks in late 2020 (details below).

Consultation background

Developed in 2011, the Harbour Trust’s Management Plan for North Head Sanctuary was a result of extensive community consultation from 2009 to 2010 and has set the direction for the site since that time.

The Independent Review of the Harbour Trust, which ran from 30 October 2019 to 31 January 2020, made specific recommendations about North Head Sanctuary. Subsequently, between 12 October and 30 November 2020, the Harbour Trust invited the community to engage in an open dialogue on the future of this treasured public parkland.

How you had your say

During the seven-week campaign, the community were able to contribute to the dialogue by completing an online survey or texting “Hello Harbour Trust” to 0480 018 889.

Overall, there was a high level of engagement from the community, which completed a total of 630 surveys and engaged in 471 text message conversations. This research will be used in future planning for the site.
