The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has declared an ‘Extreme’ fire danger rating across Greater Sydney for Wednesday 20 September and put a total fire ban in place.

As a result of this declaration, all bush tracks and trails at North Head Sanctuary and the neighbouring Sydney Harbour National Park will be closed to the public on Wednesday 20 September. Further, North Fort, the North Fort Visitor Centre and Bella Vista Café will also be closed to the public on Wednesday. Trails and tracks at all other Harbour Trust sites will remain open to visitors.

At this stage, dependent on the conditions, tracks and trails will reopen on Thursday 21 September; however, we will provide updates as they become available.
