The new programs were developed to help teachers meet the requirements of the updated K–6 HSIE and NSW History 7–10 syllabuses in NSW. They will match the high standards of our current programs, which will remain available to school groups until Thursday 17 December 2026.
There are 5 options for teachers to choose from, including 3 tours, an object-handling session and an experience that combines a tour with an object handling session. Tours are available as either a 60- or 90-minute experience and the object-handling session runs for 60-minutes. In addition to being tied to specific curriculum outcomes, each experience is delivered by a specialist education guide. As with our current programs, our education guides will use scaffolding, Socratic questioning and other strategies to develop critical thinking – all while providing an engaging and fun experience.
The tours and object-handling sessions will be available Monday to Friday, subject to education guide availability. Prices range from $10 to $24 per student, while teachers and supervisors can attend free of charge. While our new offerings are designed for Stages 2, 3 and 5, they can be adapted for Stages 1 and 6. Plus, we are working hard behind the scenes, on launching additional tours from 2027.
Top 5 reasons to book our new education programs:
Getting to the island is an adventure – the fun starts when you board the ferry.
We’re flexible – there is a min. booking of 10 students but we welcome smaller groups.
Teachers/supervisors attend FREE of charge – now that’s value for money.
We've prepared a risk assessment – we’ve done the hard work to give you back time.
We’re guided by your preferences – choose an experience (or combination of experiences) that works with the time you have available.
