This is part of the Harbour Trust’s management of bushland to mitigate the risk of unplanned fire for the protection of life, property and ecological values. The burn will be done in conjunction with a NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service burn at Clifton Gardens that adjoins Harbour Trust land. See map.
The burn will require the following bush walking track closures:
Artists’ Precinct / Lower Georges Heights to Georges Head lookout and Gunners Barracks
Georges Head lookout to Rawson Park
Georges Head lookout to Chowder Bay roundabout
Commonwealth Avenue to Chowder Bay via Navy fuel tanks
The burn will require the following carpark closures:
Dominion Crescent carpark
Chowder Bay carpark – North side only
For safety and environmental reasons, bush walking tracks will stay closed on Tuesday 22 September until tracks have been cleared of any debris.
People with known health conditions can sign up to receive air quality reports, forecasts and alerts via email or SMS from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
