Tribute to Dr Jack Mundey AO

The Harbour Trust wishes to pay tribute to Dr Jack Mundey AO (1929-2020) and express our deepest condolences to his family ahead of his State Funeral on Wednesday 10 March.

“Jack was a visionary and an advocate for the protection of historic sites across Sydney,” said Harbour Trust Chair Joseph Carrozzi.

“He was involved in the campaign to save former defence sites on Sydney Harbour, which ultimately led to the Harbour Trust's formation.

"Jack was a leader in what became a multi-party and community endeavour to save the Harbour Trust sites. For this, we owe Jack an enormous debt of gratitude.

"His legacy lives on in protected public places of Sydney, including Harbour Trust parklands."
