Bush to Bowl and the Harbour Trust are hosting a series of bush tucker education tours for primary schools at North Head Sanctuary in Manly.
In this 1 hour bush tucker walk, led by a knowledgeable First Nations guide, students will develop a deeper understanding of our connection to Country, First Nations customs and beliefs, as well as practices.
During the walk, together with a First Nations guide, students will identify different bush tucker plants and learn how they are used in First Nations daily practices. Through touch and smell, students will be able to learn through this sensory experience, while leisurely walking and learning more about the history of the area.
This session will end with a yarning circle where students will be able to reflect on what they’ve learned and discuss the important connection between these native bush plants and First Nations culture.
