Fallen servicepeople honoured at tree planting ceremony

On Tuesday (15 Nov), the Harbour Trust – in partnership with the Headland Preservation Group and Mosman RSL sub-Branch – held an intimate tree planting ceremony at Georges Heights, Mosman to honour the casualties of the Gallipoli campaign.

Turning the lights off – Cockatoo Island's Abandoned Powerhouse Tour

On Saturday 5 November, Cockatoo Island’s Powerhouse will open its doors to the public as part of Sydney Open – an annual event celebrating the city’s important and architecturally inspiring landmarks. Across five timeslots, Harbour Trust guides will lead tourgoers through the layered history of Cockatoo Island’s mysterious Powerhouse, normally off limits to the public.

The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust (Harbour Trust) is seeking nominations from members of the public for its new Community Advisory Committee. Nominations close 5pm AEDT on Thursday 10 November.

Macquarie Lightstation Lights Up to Celebrate World Maritime Day (media release)

On Thursday 29 September, the Harbour Trust in partnership with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), will illuminate Macquarie Lightstation to celebrate World Maritime Day. Macquarie Lightstation at Vaucluse in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs will join other buildings around the world in being lit up in blue and green.

Manly Rotary Fun Run & walk (4 Sept)

Taking place on Sunday 4 September (Father’s Day), the Manly Rotary Fun Run & Walk includes options for participants of varying abilities. There is a 2km course that leads people along Manly’s beachfront, a 5km course that zigs and zags around the broader suburb, and a 10km ‘Runners Challenge'.

Young Endeavour launches at Sub Base Platypus

The Harbour Trust was very proud to have lent support to the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme on Sunday (7 Aug). Mid-afternoon, STS Young Endeavour – Australia’s National Sail Training Ship berthed alongside Sub Base Platypus at Neutral Bay to collect a crew of 21 Aussie youths and prepare for its first ever voyage from our community recreation and work hub.
