Visit Headland Park

Headland Park, Mosman is comprised of three precincts overlooking Sydney Harbour – Chowder Bay / Gooree, Georges Heights and Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh.

Formerly the site of 6 Defence bases, Headland Park features remnant military structures dating to the late 1800s. Meanwhile, a network of scenic trails and roads connect its three precincts and link them to Taronga Zoo, Balmoral Beach and other local attractions.

Although Mosman is the homeland of the Borogegal People, the Traditional Custodians and Owners of Broken Bay also have a notable connection to Headland Park. In 1815, 16 Garigal families, led by Aboriginal pioneer and diplomat Bungaree – also the first Australian to circumnavigate the continent – were granted land locally to settle and cultivate.
