ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Georges Heights (25 April)

The Mosman RSL sub branch will host a Dawn Service on ANZAC Day (25 April) at the Old Parade Ground, Best Avenue, Georges Heights.

When: Thursday, 25 April from 5.30am to 7am.

Where: Old Parade Ground, Best Avenue, Georges Heights

The service will be proceeded by a video titled ‘Western Front 1915’, produced and narrated by a pupil from Mosman High School. The service itself will involve a Catafalque party, wreath laying and the Act of Remembrance. Following the service, the Mosman Lions Club will provide a sausage sizzle and a Cafe2U coffee van will be on site.  In addition, Frenchy's Café, located near the Old Parade Ground, will be serving coffee and food from 6am. 

Wreaths and tributes: Locals wishing to lay a wreath or tribute should notify the Master of Ceremonies ahead of the service.  

Parking: it is recommended you allow extra travel time to find a carpark as traffic will be heavy during this time. Parking will be available on the Georges Heights Oval, unless wet weather in which case the oval will be closed. Please call the wet weather line on the day: (02) 9978 4136. 

Road closure: Best Avenue will be blocked off for vehicle access between 4:30 am and 8am.

Other considerations: Seating is limited to veterans who cannot stand. Wear suitable clothing as there is no shelter. A torch may also be useful. If wearing family or descendants medals (i.e. not your own), please note – they are worn on the RIGHT chest.
