Chowder Bay / Gooree

Chowder Bay is a stunning waterfront retreat on the Mosman shoreline and a precinct of Headland Park. Highlights include charming eateries, coastal tracks leading to Taronga Zoo or Balmoral, and access to the beach at Clifton Gardens.

Cockatoo Island / Wareamah

Cockatoo Island is a former convict gaol and shipyard in the heart of Sydney Harbour. Popular attractions include the UNESCO World Heritage listed Convict Site, waterfront cafés, guided tours, camping and heritage accommodation.

Georges Heights

A short drive from Mosman Village, Georges Heights is a precinct of Headland Park. Drawcards include coastal bush trails, cafés and high tea, a weekly market, tennis court hire and a thriving artistic community.

Macquarie Lightstation

Macquarie Lightstation in Vaucluse is the site of Australia’s first lighthouse. The iconic tower was completed in 1818 but, due to crumbling sandstone foundations, had to be reconstructed in the 1880s. This iteration still stands today.

Marine Biological Station

The former Marine Biological Station at Camp Cove was one of the first buildings established at Watsons Bay. Although it is closed to the public, visitors can relax at the adjoining park and nearby beach.

Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh

Middle Head is a precinct of Headland Park on the tip of the Mosman peninsula. Unwind at a boutique café, play tennis, discover historic military landmarks and connect with nature.  

North Head Sanctuary

North Head Sanctuary is a coastal parkland on the Manly peninsula. Highlights include native wildlife, scenic outlooks, Australia’s Memorial Walk and historic landmarks including North Fort and the Third Quarantine Cemetery.

Sub Base Platypus

Sub Base Platypus is a former torpedo factory, submarine base and gas works in North Sydney. Take advantage of the shaded barbeque area and pocket playground, shop at Koskela and enjoy sweeping views of Neutral Bay. 

Woolwich Dock and Parklands

Located on the Sydney Harbour foreshore, Woolwich Dock and Parklands is a precinct steeped in maritime history. Local attractions include ample picnic space, a waterfront café and the harbour view from Woolwich Lookout.
