

The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust was created by the Australian Government to protect and improve public access to former defence and Commonwealth sites around Sydney Harbour. Our sites include: Cockatoo Island and Snapper Island in Sydney Harbour, Woolwich Dock and Parklands, HMAS Platypus in Neutral Bay, Headland Park and Chowder Bay in Mosman, North Head Sanctuary in Manly, Marine Biological Station in Watsons Bay and Macquarie Lightstation in Vaucluse.

Outpost Project
After five big weeks of Outpost Project on Cockatoo Island featuring exhibitions, installations, collections, DJs, live entertainment and workshops for all ages, the festival has now ended for 2011. The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is pleased to announce some of the Outpost exhibits will remain on Cockatoo Island during summer 2012 for all to continue to enjoy.
Visit Cockatoo Island this summer to experience these Outpost highlights, grab a drink at the Island Bar, enjoy one of our many picnic spots with spectacular Sydney harbour views or stay over night in one of our waterfront camp sites or luxury apartments. There's something for everyone and entry is free with your ferry ticket.

New Year's Eve on Cockatoo Island 2011
This year saw another fun, family friendly, evening on Cockatoo Island! It was a sold out event with over 2300 people camping. The weather was warm and still and our location perfect for viewing the spectacular fireworks display.

Public Exhibition of Development Proposal – Proposed Aerial Adventure Park on Cockatoo Island

The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust has received an application from Mighty High Pty Ltd for a proposal to construct and operate an ‘Aerial Adventure Park’ on the North-Western corner of Cockatoo Island.
