North Head Sanctuary, Manly

North Head Sanctuary is the perfect place to introduce children to some of Australia’s most unique flora and fauna. On a series of easy walking tracks, children can discover some of North Head’s rare native plants and search for signs of the endangered Long-nosed Bandicoot population.

Kids Discovery Room

Visit the Discovery Room at the Gatehouse Visitor Centre for free children’s activities. Kids can make a bandicoot mask or flannel flower, use a microscope to examine bush remnants and thumb through a selection of unique books. The Visitor Centre is located in the former gatehouse of the School of Artillery on North Head and is open daily from 10am - 4pm (the centre is closed Good Friday, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day).
