Cockatoo Island Festival 2005 - A Huge Success!

The Waifs drew a huge crowd to the Turbine Hall
The inaugural Cockatoo Island Festival - held over the Easter Long Weekend - was a huge success with over 20,000 people enjoying the music and arts entertainment on offer.


The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, in conjunction with festival organisers Mixed Industry - were 2.5 years in the planning for the event.

And the climax of all this hard work? A Festival like no other...

The Musical Acts

Over 120 musical acts performed at the Festival, including Pete Murray, Gomez, The Waifs, Machine Gun Fellatio, The Wailers, Deborah Conway, Cubanismo! and many many more.

 

 

 
The Arts and Entertainment

The Festival featured a nightclub in a tunnel, 2 cinemas, a cabaret room, a Writers' Festival event, photographic and art exhibitions, a new media gallery, a record & collectables fair, childrens entertainment, bars, restaurants, cafés and not to mention the harbourside camping!

You can visit Cockatoo Island on any weekend throughout the year on one of the Harbour Trust's tours. The Harbour Trust operates historical tours, convict tours, shipbuilding tours and for something a little more adventurous, you can do a night tour.
