Historic walls being restored at North Head Sanctuary

The historic sandstone walls at North Head Sanctuary are currently being restored by the Harbour Trust. This project will restore the structural integrity of the site’s walls – sections of which have been damaged by environmental factors – and ensure their heritage values are protected.

Harbour Trust volunteers elevate historically significant cannon with handcrafted carriage

The Harbour Trust’s Heritage Restoration Volunteers have brought history back to life, creating a detailed replica wooden carriage for a historic 6 Lb Smoothbore (SB) Bronze Cannon, manufactured c.1795.

Cockatoo Island welcomes more than 200 endangered seahorses

On Wednesday 26 February, more than 200 White’s Seahorses (Hippocampus whitei) were released and rehomed off the Eastern Apron of Cockatoo Island. This operation was undertaken by the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) in partnership with Harbour Trust. It marks the first release of these endangered creatures into Sydney Harbour this year.
